Flushing and cooling are ways to extend the service life of high-temperature gear melt pumps
Flushing and cooling are important steps to prolong the seal life of high-temperature gear pumps. On the one hand, flushing can reduce the frictional heat and stirring heat in the seal cavity of the high-temperature gear pump, reduce the temperature of the seal end surface, and ensure the stability of the fluid film on the friction surface. On the other hand, it can prevent the accumulation of impurities in the sealed cavity of the high-temperature gear pump and ensure the good performance of the bellows. Cooling can indirectly take away the heat. In view of the high temperature characteristics, the medium is above 340 degrees Celsius, the viscosity is high, and sealing coking is an inevitable phenomenon; if the high temperature gear pump has severe coking, the bellows compensation will be invalid and the medium will leak. Cemented carbide will thermally crack at local high temperatures. The seal cooling and flushing system's medium type, flushing method and flow rate are not suitable for thermal cracking on the end face of the seal. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the washing and cooling links to improve the sealing operating environment of the high-temperature melt gear pump.
The daily maintenance of high temperature gear pumps requires strict maintenance. When replacing the seal, strictly control the radial and axial runout of the shaft, the gap between the back of the bush, and the perpendicularity between the end face of the seal cavity and the shaft. Maintenance personnel are equipped with special bearing installation tools and it is strictly forbidden to knock, and do a good job of bearing lubrication to prevent changes in axial displacement due to bearing wear, which will cause seal leakage of high-temperature gear pumps. Oil pumps that use sealed steam must prevent the sealed steam from entering the bearing box. In daily maintenance, pay special attention to the oil quality and oil level. Once the oil quality changes, it needs to be replaced immediately.
