Introduction to the structure and working principle of the melt pump?
Melt pump is a positive displacement conveying device, and the flow rate is strictly proportional to the pump speed. The structure of the melt pump is composed of pump casing, driving and driven gears, sliding bearings, front and rear end plates, packing seals, and other components. It is mainly used for the transportation, pressurization, and metering of high-temperature and high viscosity polymer melts. In foreign countries, high-temperature melt pumps are widely used in the extrusion molding of plastics, resins, rubber, and chemical fiber products.
The melt pump is composed of the tooth profile of two gears, the pump body, and the side cover plate, which form the feeding, feeding, and discharging areas of the high-temperature melt pump. During operation, the melt is transported by the change in working volume caused by the mutual meshing of the master and slave gears. When the gear rotates in the specified direction, the melt will enter the middle of the grooves of the two gears in the feeding area, and then the gear starts to rotate. The melt is brought into the feeding area from both sides, and the gear teeth again, allowing the melt in the grooves to be squeezed out of the discharge area and pressed into the outlet pipeline. As long as the pump shaft rotates, the gears pressurize and transport the molten material to the outlet. Therefore, the pump outlet can reach a high pressure, while there are no high requirements for inlet flow rate and pressure.
