Melt pump has many advantages in sheet extruder, which are introduced in detail below:
I. Measurement and stable extrusion
a. High-precision measurement
The melt pump can control the flow rate of the melt. During the extrusion process of sheet materials, there is a high demand for uniform thickness. The melt pump can deliver the melt to the extrusion die at a very stable flow rate through its precise gear structure. For example, it can achieve a flow accuracy of ±1%, which means that when extruding sheets, it can ensure that the amount of melt passing through the die per unit time is almost the same, thus helping to produce sheet products with high thickness accuracy.
b. Stable extrusion pressure
The melt pump can effectively eliminate the pressure fluctuations generated by the upstream screw extruder. When extruding thin sheets, such as plastic sheets for food packaging, which may have a thickness of between 0.1 and 0.5mm, the melt pump can ensure uniform sheet thickness and avoid local over- or under-thickness.
