In the extrusion production line, melt pressure sensors play an important role in improving melt quality, improving production reliability and protecting production equipment. At the same time, the melt pressure sensor is a very sensitive component, and only proper installation and maintenance can make its function fully play. the melt pressure sensor is the standard configuration of the high temperature melt pump, one at the inlet and outlet of the melt pump. It is used to measure the melt pressure at the inlet and outlet of the melt pump to ensure that the subsequent melt can be supplied with stable and high pressure. In the extrusion production process, for plastic raw materials, there should be sufficient "soaking time" from solid to molten state. If the melt pump has not reached the operating temperature before starting production, both the melt pressure sensor and the melt gear pump will be damaged to a certain degree. In addition, if the melt pressure sensor is removed from the cold high temperature melt pump, the material may stick to the top of the melt pressure sensor and cause damage to the diaphragm. Therefore, before removing the melt pressure sensor, it should be confirmed that the temperature of the melt pump is high enough and the material inside the melt is in a softened state.
Even if the overload design of the pressure measurement range of the sensor can reach 50% (the ratio beyond the larger range), risk should be avoided as much as possible from the perspective of equipment operation safety, and the melt pressure sensor with the measured pressure within the range should be selected. Under normal circumstances, the preferred range of the selected melt pressure sensor should be 1.5 times the measured pressure, so that even if the extrusion melt pump runs under high pressure, it can avoid damage to the melt pressure sensor. Precautions for daily maintenance:
● Keep dry
Although the sensor's circuit design can withstand the harsh extrusion processing environment, most sensors are not completely waterproof, and it is not conducive to normal operation in a humid environment. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the water in the water cooling device of the extruder barrel does not leak, otherwise it will adversely affect the sensor. If the sensor has to be exposed to water or a humid environment, it is necessary to choose a special sensor with extremely strong water resistance.
● Avoid low temperature interference
